Visual Effects Society Award & Best Original Song

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part has been nominated for a Visual Effects Society Award.

The Visual Effects Society has released the nominees for this year’s awards, with The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part nominated for Oustanding Visual Effects in an Animated Feature. David Burgess, Tim Smith, Mark Theriault and John Rix are the visual effects artists who have been nominated.

Other films nominated in the category are Frozen II, Klaus, Missing Link and Toy Story 4. The winning film will be announced at the awards ceremony on January 29.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part has been shortlisted for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards 2020.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced nine shortlists for the 92nd Academy Awards, including in the category of Best Original Song. Catchy Song, from The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, has made the shortlist.

Catchy Song is performed by Dillon Francis feat. T-Pain and That Girl Lay Lay and written by Jon Lajoie, Dillon Francis and James Rushent with the rap by Alaya High.

Members of the Academy will now vote for the nominees, before the winner is announced as the annual Oscars ceremony next year.
